I go through phases of being in love with different pieces and trends but can go off them super quick. One thing that I find works for me is having my own style but incorporating relativity inexpensive bits and bobs of certain trends that complement things that I already have and love. So this is basically my style I love laid back chill clothing but any look I attempt, in my eyes, has to be polished, meaning it has to be completed with accessories and the lot There is seriously nothing worse that buying something that is "so in" and in about two weeks you are over it and it gets shoved into the back of your closet along with all the other mistakes you've purchased.
One piece that I have noticed on a few blogs recently is a Burgundy Faux- Suede jacket from H&M. It is so nice and versatile, I literally saw it and started planning so many outfits, because lets face it, there are very few days that you can walk out of home with no jacket and be perfectly content with the weather ALL DAY!
Another item I literally think can go with pretty much any spring or summer outfit is Converse. I am stocking up quite the collection in a variety of colours, be they high-tops or low-tops, I honestly can't get enough of them. Pair them with a cute summer dress and it's very school girl cute, or pop them on with denim skinnys and a slouchy white tee and you are good to grab your morning coffee looking effortlessly cool. Seriously love them and they are so perfect with jersey maxi dresses too. I got a pretty cheap black t-shirt in Forever 21 and with my pair of burgundy cons and a cardigan to match I was all set for lazy Sunday hangover shopping in one of the comfiest outfits ever. Cons are one of the most amazing things to put on after a night dancing your socks off in heels. I am seriously lusting after a pair of white low-tops at the moment for spring/summer because not only will they bring a bit of linen freshness to my shoe collection, white is definitely a colour that will look good with my chill spring/ summer style.
Another thing I love about this time of year is anything maxi, dresses, skirts, oversized sweaters, love it all. So it is a good thing that Brandy Melville has opened its doors on Newbury Street and answered my prayers. Their maxi skirts are so simple to wear and literally sooooo comfy, I could sleep in them if I could. Super easy to match with literally anything in your closet and a good for a variety of body types.
Rings, rings and more rings. So I am also in love with rings, any style and colour, I love them so much. I am in awe oh how a few simple rings can transform an outfit into something completely different! While I have a much better collection at home, I am slowly starting to build up one here with the likes of pieces from Urban, Brandy Melville (thanks to their new store which has just opened here) and H&M. My new favorites are these midi rings that just sit about your knuckle and are adorable and so cute. Have gotten a few gold ones but may need to invest in a few silver just to balance out the sides.
Last but not least are my one true love, Statment Necklaces. I literally cannot get enough of them from spikes to full on chain-mail, there are very few statemnet necklaces that i would say no to. they are the perfect accessory for any outfit and I love them. So have I mentioned I love them? The two newest ones I have gotten my hands on are both silver, with on being plain hardcore links, which is super edgy but not too out there and the other is a longer-ish one, made up of navy plates with a silver chain, which sounds weird when I attempt to explain it but trust me it works. Now i have yet to wear this one but that is because I bought it to go with a dress, while I was in New York and have yet to showcase the dress on the streets of Boston, so who knows it might make an appearance this weekend. Here's hoping the weather would be nice enough for it!
So pretty much my style for the foreseeable future is gonna be maxi dresses and skirts with slouchy tees, rings and statement necklaces, and cons all topped off with a suede jacket to keep out the wind if the weather decides to go bi-polar again!
