Autumn/ Winter Styling, How to wear the Trends

Summer Colours
There are so many amazing trends that are coming through for this A/W season, from great bold throw-backs to 80s punk music sence to the more subtle tones evident in the candy coloured wonderfulness and vintage girlie style that has already hit down in stores. There is a strong focus on bold colours as a staple for the season which can be seen in many of the trend packages hitting down in stores like Zara and Topshop to name a few.

In light of all these amazing trends that are emerging and that are gathering such super followings already, I have put together a look that encompasses some of the key pieces of the season, while maintaining an easy to wear approach, which allows for a great transition in to this Autunm/ Winter season. For this, I have chosen a midi pencil skirt in a bold yet flattering orange. This skirt length is one that has been shown on catwalks from Marc Jacobs to Diane Von Furstenberg, and will remain huge right up to and including S/S '14, so any pieces that you do decide to invest in will see you safety through the seasons. I think that this skirt works best in this type of a look as it can be use as a statement piece while maintaining just the right balance as not to become over-powering. Personally I find that this approach works best on me due to the fact that I am blonde, and wearing it on the bottom helps the entire look to remain classic and tailored with just enough of a "pop" of colour.  I decided to keep the rest of the look pretty simple with bits and bobs that most people would have already and would be able to revamp for this chic look, inspired by the 90's tailoring of Calvin Klein and co.
I feel that there are instances that nothing looks better with a nice tailored skirt that a cool crisp white shirt, it gives an edge to this kind of look that takes it away from other seasons while maintain an air of the androgynous trend that has become a stable in the fashion world for the last few seasons. The bomber jacket  is again a subtle nod to the 80's punk revival that has begun, while the silk fabric gives it a more tailored and feminine feel. At this stage a pair of ankle strap open sandals should be a key piece is every woman closet and these help to tie the whole look together bringing it up to date and adding that touch of luxury that every girl just loves. The gold cuff and chunky gold chain again give hints of a 90's grunge theme while maintaining the "of the moment air" to the whole ensemble. While I did include the Amazing quilted Channel bag ( a girl an dream right?), any black and gold clutch or tote would equally set the whole look off, its all about how you like to accessorise an outfit yourself.

This look is sophisticated and cool and can be adapted to any age and tweaked to any personal style, it's fun , versatile and very easy to accomplish with all pieces being available in a multitude of stores from Pennys to H&M, and Zara to Topshop for those willing to spend that little bit more. The clothes can only do some much, as no look is compete with a great smile and a bit of confidence. With these two things every girl can take on the world!
